Julia

by E Watts

I have a friend named Julia
Whose fate is tachycardia.

For friends in need she's always there.
Her neighbours all rely on her.
To drive them into town to shop
Or off to church. She ought to stop!

From time to time her heart goes thump.
Then an erratic bump, bump, bump!
So then, at last, she must sit still
And sometimes take another pill

To give her ticker a quick fix -
For Julia is eighty six!
